Hawaii Under Tsunami Threat - Tsunami Watch 09/29/09

Heightened alert in Hawaii has been released as a report by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)on 8:57 AM today revealed that 8.3 magnitude earthquake has been identified with the Samoa Islands Region. Although a task force is still determining if the threat is ominous to coastal areas in Hawaii, the data that NOAA generated revealed that an earthquake that strong on the Richter scale can cause severe destruction even if the area is far off from its epicenter.

We can all just pray for Hawaii that they will be safe. The expected arrival of the tsunami, in case that happens, will be on 1:11 PM HST. NOAA will be releasing updates about the Hawaii Tsunami Watch every hour. Here's the NOAA report about the tsunami threat in Hawaii.

UPDATE: Tsunami hits Pago Pago Island in American Samoa that was caused by a 7.9 magnitude earthquake. News about that in KVAL website.

Latest New Moon Posters Are Out - See RPattz, Kristen, Taylor and Dakota!

The Twilight sequel New Moon is just 53 days away and Summit Entertainment has released 3 versions of this film's posters just to excite the fans looking forward to it. In the first poster, you can see Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) in a pose where their arms are all over each other leaving no space in between. The second poster features Taylor Lautner flexing his muscles with the werewolf pack. While the third one, it centers on the new character Jane (Dakota Fanning) who's a member of the Volturi Guard. This is a coven of vampires seen right behind her.

Derrion Albert is just a regular 16 year old who has a bright future ahead of him. Yet, last Thursday, September 17, Derrion met an unfortunate situation on his way home from school. The authorities believe that Derrion was just in a wrong place at the wrong time after being clubbed to his end.

Communities are now denouncing on what happened to Derrion Albert. This Derrion Albert video uncut should be a wake up call to Chicago Public School system on how they should deal with the gangs that hang around their premises. Derrion Albert was astudent of the Christian Fenger Academy High School. The latest reports from USA Today said that four people are now being held responsible for this - they are Silvonus Shannon, Eugene Riley, Eric Carson and another unidentified teen. Mike Leach - Texas Tech Coach Bans Twitter Use for Football Team

Too bad, Texas Tech team are taboo-ed to use Twitter! That's not an alliteration joke but it's actually true - Coach Mike Leach from the Texas Tech Red Raiders has issued a ban of using the online micro-blogging platform craze because his tardiness in their meeting was broadcasted to the world. Yesterday, the Texas Tech team lost to Houston Cougars with a score of 29-28. Leach's late arrival during their Sunday meeting was blamed by everyone as the cause of their loss.

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reported that it was the Texas Tech linebacker named Marlon Williams who first tweeted on his account on why he was stuck in their meeting room as "the head coach can't even be on time." This controversial message on Twitter has now been deleted. Now, after their loss, the lineman Brandon Carter bitterly snapped "This is not how I saw our season" in his Twitter account. For this, Brandon Carter was suspended indefinitely for the alleged violation of team rules and now his Twitter has disappeared in the Twit-sphere altogether. Gmail Fail September 24 - Gmail is temporarily unable to access your Contacts

Many Gmail subscribers are again getting irked today as the "Contacts" of the email service is not accessible. Although you can still login like usual, you cannot readily access the email addresses of the people who are listed in your address list. Likewise, GTalk is also having problems and this is why you cannot chat too.

I tried to email successfully but I have to manually extract the email address of the receiver. The official Gmail blog has yet to reveal what is causing this glitch. For now, you might just want to extend a little bit of effort trying to figure out the email addresses of your friends. Good luck!
