THE ART OF ROCK

I have no problem buying a book for its cover (otherwise known as coffee table books). What's even better though is a book with a great cover and an incredible interior. This one qualifies. It also inspired Style Maniac's April theme of Art & Rock.

The Art of Rock: Posters from Presley to Punk by Paul Grishkin covers a period of rock history when the creation of concert posters for groups like Big Brother & The Holding Company, The Doors and the Grateful Dead rose to a sublime level. Artists like Rick Griffin and Victor Moscoso wove band names, locales and images in a psychedelic mix that reveals new surprises with every viewing. Case in point: this book has been on display in various rooms of our home for years but I didn't notice that the cover art includes the subtitle until writing this post. Can you find it?
