Danica Patrick Slammed Out of Honda Grand Prix season opening

Danica Patrick failed to sustain a fresh start as she crashed out prematurely in the Honda Grand Prix season opener. As a premier IndyCar racer, Danica Patrick zoomed in ninth place in the 22 car field last Sunday April 5, this was before racer rookie Raphael Matos inched his way towards patrick's Andretti Green Racing car. Both of them failed to supersede the tightest turn in the 1.8 mile race circuit with 14 turns when Matos and Patrick crashed their vehicles into the tire barrier rear end first. Luckily, Danica Patrick and Raphael Matos did not suffer any injury during the mishap.

Known for her quick temper in the racetrack, Danica Patrick was unusually calm after the incident, where she just patted Raphael Matos' helmet as they waited to hitch a ride back to the pits. In an interview, Danica Patrick stated that: “It’s not exactly the ideal spot to pass” she said. “We were going into the fast chicane there and there’s no room, there’s no room for two people. … I was looking in my mirrors and I saw him. He just wasn’t all the way up next to me.” Danica Patrick was the lone woman in the race, where she finished 19th and Matos is 20th -- both of them finished 31 out of 100 laps. (Source: Yahoo!
