Byo
"The aim was to create a unique gift to give our clients at Christmas and to act as a new business introduction. It needed to remind them of who we are and the long hours that we put into our work. It needed to feature all of our staff, reflect our creativity and sense of humor. The print run was 5000 labels.
We obtained high quality cleanskin wines and created our own labels. Each label was based on one staff member. It included a number of facial features and the client is encouraged to BYO - Build Their Own. The wine and the label is the perfect substitute for when the real thing cannot be there."

Waitrose Mustard
Gotta Moo
"Gotta Moo’s package focuses on the most eco-friendly method for milk packaging. This greener milk packaging solution will be made out of Sugarcane Bagasse molded pulp paper, coated inside with sugarcane lignin and printed with vegetable based inks, all based on food safe materials. Bagasse is an annually renewable plant resource and is compostable and recyclable. This can replace plastic and plastic coated packaging, which is currently used in the food/beverage industry today. This packaging solution does not rely on oil extraction and it also minimizes green house gas emissions. This new molded pulp milk packaging solution could be an eco-friendly vision of the future."

STYLE MANIAC TURNS ONE
One year ago I began Style Maniac as a way to get back to writing, combat the dour economy and finally realize, in online form, the magazine dreams that had been rattling around in my head for so long. What I never imagined is that it would be so satisfying and oh so much fun. Or that I would learn so many things about technology ... social media ... using lemon yellow as a neutral. Most of all--best of all--I had no idea that this blog would strengthen, revive and bring new friendships to my life.
As a writer, you sit alone facing a blank screen, often wondering if you are the only person in the world to have a particular thought. Through a blog, you discover that an entire community shares not just a thought, but a similar interest and passion in books, movies, music, fashion, humor, decorating, entertaining, living ... with style. Even more amazing, that community encompasses ages 13 to 76, and includes women around the globe whom you've never met and probably never will. And yet you are all connected through this amazing, crazy medium.
So thanks to each one of you--readers, subscribers, followers, fans, family, friends, contributors, guest posters, photographers, artists, fellow bloggers and, especially, husband--for opening my eyes, brightening my world and letting me share my mania with you.

THE COAT THAT SAVED WINTER
My Blue Duck shearling single-handedly changed my entire view of winter. It’s the warmest thing I’ve ever owned. Best of all, you can get deep discounts on these pricey coats at the Manhattan showroom, which is open to the public at limited times. (Thanks, Gina, for letting me in on this secret years ago.) The best bargains can be found right now, before the showroom closes for the season in February.
And where is a photo of this maniac find? Well, girls, fashion photography is an animal I have yet to tame. Sometimes I win and get the shot I want and sometimes, arghhh. So just close your eyes and imagine: soft tan suede subtly, sporadically tattooed with faded florals and paisley, enveloping fluffy fur so comfy you could wear it to bed and so toasty that just one layer beneath--say, a cotton turtleneck--suffices even in bitter cold.
DRESS: Women's and men's shearling coats and more available at Blue Duck's Manhattan showroom (463 7th Avenue, Suite 806 | phone: 212-268-3122), just moments from Penn Station.

Neil Patrick Harris and Joe Jonas in American Idol Dallas Auditions
Another round in the American Idol auditions and tonight it's the turn of Dallas contestants. Neil Patrick Harris and Joe Jonas joined in as the fourth judge ine the first and second day American Idol 2010 Dallas audition.
Neil Patrick Harris is somewhat nicer than other former guest judges who appeared in these year's auditions. Will someone from the American Idol Top 24 leaked list appear in tonight's show? Here's the teaser of it:

Tasha Layton American Idol Baby Baby Baby
Tasha Layton was the first female who got the golden ticket in the American Idol Los Angeles audition. She sang her version of the Joss Stone song "Baby Baby Baby". What's unique about her is that she's a personal assistant by day and a minister by night.
Simon laughed off after she sang because he feels that when she gets the golden ticket for the Hollywood round, she'll break into "Oh Happy Day". Anyway, it's nice to see Katy Perry on the judge's table. Unfortunately, Tasha Layton did not make to the American Idol Top 24 Leaked List. Nevertheless, nothing is final until it's aired on TV.

Andrew Garcia American Idol Audtion Sunday Morning
Andrew Garcia is rumored to be one of the contenders in the American Idol Top 24 leaked list. Seeing his commendable Los Angeles audition tonight, we're not disappointed with his soulful performance of Maroon 5's "Sunday Morning".
Andrew wowed even Simon Cowell who dubbed the 23 year old aspiring singer as a "only person who's walked through today who... (he) genuinely believed to be a good singer". With four yeses, Andrew Garcia is sure to be in the Hollywood round. We sort of remind him Danny Gokey last year. Will he be in the American Idol 9 Top 12?
