That's Kevin and I as Big Bird & Tippi Hedren at the 2008 Second Street Halloween production of The Birds.  My theatrical neighbors stage the show, a loyal crew acts it out (Kevin's usually the monster), hundreds of kids show up to our city locale and the adults have as much fun as the kids.

FASHION FROM FOUR to FORTY(ish) to FOREVER

So, back in September, why did I feature this kooky get-up to kick off a fall fashion discussion? Well, for one, I like how the photo captures the fearlessness we had as kids to wear what made us happy. That fearlessness is easy to lose. As we get older we tend to start worrying about what other people think. And you know what? Most of the time "other people" are just thinking how great you look.

The other thing I take from that photo is how much my style hasn't changed. Black with shots of color (in the form of a scarf or one bold, over-the-top piece of jewelry) remains the basis of my wardrobe.  Add sunglasses and a fabulous coat (or killer pair of shoes) and I'm good to go. (The knit ski cap--not so much.)  It's a formula that's worked for years and it makes me happy.  It makes me feel good.  Which, to me, is what fashion should be about.

Miley Cyrus: 2009 Worst Celebrity Influence

Hooray for Miley Cyrus! She's got another thorn down her throat after Noah Lindsey appeared in a dominatrix Halloween costume! That's right, Miley Cyrus was crowned as the Worst Celebrity Influence of 2009 on an online poll from AOL. The 16 year old Disney tween queen gained a whopping 42 percent in the poll for AOL's JSYK.com (Just So You Know) website. This site is targeting 9 to 15 year-olds. Miley topped other celebs with "negative vibes" on the youth. Britney Spears is second to Miley, while infamous rapper Kanye West ranked third, respectively. Whoa! These kids really know who they should they look up to, don't they?

Although no reason whatsoever was given why Miley Cyrus ranked the poorest among the other celebrities in question, reports say that the negative vibes might have come from her dating a 20 year old Justin Gaston or her chinky eyed prank that was all well criticized by the public. JSYK.com editor Stephanie Cohen belives that "Miley is in an interesting space where she is trying to graduate from being 'Hannah Montana' and a Disney channel celebrity and coming into her own and having a career beyond Disney". Maybe it's about time to clean up your act, Miley. Or else, someone's literally gonna snatch up your fame like Taylor Swift or Katy Perry.

Leona Lewis Had Hots for Justin Timberlake

After being punched on the face, Leona Lewis is now talking about the lighter side of things. And in fact, she mentions that she had a big crush on Justin Timberlake before he met him. Sadly, Leona's hots for Justin faded away Leona when they worked together on a new song 'Don't Let Me Down', which is featured on her upcoming album 'Echo'.

Maria Sharapova goes down to seventeen year old American Melanie Oudin

Seventeen year old American rising tennis sensation, Melanie Oudin, ousted media darling and reigning tennis glamor queen, Maria Sharapova, from the 2009 US Open Tennis Champships. Cheered on by the excited crowd Oudin forced a third set after taking the second set from Sharapova who won the first 6 games to 4.
In her post match interview Sharapova was asked if she agrees with Jelana Jankovic’s assesent that Oudin doesn’t have many weapons and isn’t very impressive though she’s beating top-ranked players. Sharapova called Jankovic’s remarks shocking and said of Oudin’s play:

"I thought she played really well. I thought she has many weapons. You know, she certainly held her ground. I mean, you know, I still feel like I had my chances, even though it wasn’t my best day. OK Magazine November 1 issue screams of an exclusive coverage for the Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart split. Okay, Twilight fans might get the shock of their lives because the Robsten duo has yet to admit their ongoing romance and now it appears they've went straight to Splitsville in a jiffy. We reported that Robert and Kristen are already living under one roof in a hotel suite in Vancouver. Now, it appears that days after that a fight between the couple ensued that left Kristen looking "outraged", while RPattz scurried away after he hailed a taxi and left her screaming after him. Major lover's drama in Vancouver, huh!

The OK Magazine reported that the root of he lover's quarrel is that Robert Pattinson is egging Kristen that they settle down, yet K-Stew is insisting that she's unprepared for wifey roles in real life so she declined his wedding proposal. Ouch! Another cause they figured was Kristen was jealousy of Rob's female fans, one source notes: "She is very annoyed by women cooing over Rob and is threatened by fans who send him love notes". Another source of disagreement might be Kristen wants to return to LA when they're done shooting Eclipse, while Rob wants them to live in London! So what about all that hang-ups? Oh well, they always say, you can't have it all - everyone's got to learn how to compromise!

Is there romance brewing between the two Taylors? Robert Pattinson Acting James Dean Style?

We now totally get it why you're acting like the mysterious guy-next-door. Robert Pattinson recently revealed that he is inspired by the Hollywood icon James Dean. That was the hint he's trying to emulate while portraying Edward Cullen in the Twilight film franchise. No wonder, the 23 year old actor owes his success to the Rebel Without a Cause star: "I tried copying James Dean's accent just because I've always wanted James Dean's voice. I think that is why it has worked. Everyone loves a bit of James Dean."

In fact, Robert Pattinson revealed that Edward was influenced by the Hollywood legend all through out - like the hair and stuff. RPattz also noted that an intense similarity of Edward Cullen's character arc to what happened to James Dean: "An everyday girl brings this relatively strange individual out of his slump." We just hope you just try to copy James Dean acting-wise - minus the dying part when he was 24 years old because of a vehicular mishap. Until now, Robert Pattinson is still uncomfy about the upsurge of female fans rooting for him: "I'm not entirely sure what it is. I'll probably realize afterwards how I could have controlled it a little bit more. But I am still like a deer in headlights at the moment."
